The Balm That Stays With You

Lip balm is one of those things we don't think about until we need it. Dry, chapped lips have a way of demanding attention — and often, we reach for whatever is closest without a second thought.

My two non-negotiables for lip care:

1. Safety first — I would rather leave my lips as they are than apply something unsafe.
2. Purpose — the only reason I spend money on lip balm is moisturization.

Everything else is a bonus.

The dependency cycle: many commercial balms coat the lips with a layer that prevents moisture loss — but also prevents natural moisture retention. The result? You apply more and more, and your lips depend on the product to feel normal. That isn't healing. It's a trap.

This balm has the scent of blood orange. Maybe because I love citrus fruits, the scent is very much to my liking. It moisturizes and keeps lips hydrated overnight. I don't have very dry, chapped lips — but whenever they feel dry from AC or cold weather, this works.

What I don't claim: I don't buy claims about targeting hyperpigmentation. It's rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, so in theory it should help — but I personally can't vouch for that claim.

Lip balms last a long time. I don't like buying bigger sizes or plastic containers that make me feel guilty about wastage. The 5gm glass bottle is the right size, the right material, and it feels good to use.
